22 And the daughter [a]of the same Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod, and them that sat at table together, the King said unto the maid, Ask of me what thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

23 And he swore unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, even unto the half of my kingdom.

24 (A)So [b]she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, John Baptist’s head.
